Marketing, Advertising, and Sales

Let’s get some terms straight. In business contexts, sales is the process through which a prospect becomes a client. When I negotiate the scope of a contract and set a project price with a client, that’s sales. This course will not teach you ‘the art of the deal’; this isn’t a sales course.

Similarly, advertising involves paying to promote your business. You might promote a post on a social media platform or pay an influencer to speak positively about what you do. You’re looking to receive more in income from your campaign than you spend on executing it. This course will not show you how to make effective advertisement with a high ROI; this isn’t an advertising course.

Instead, we focus on effective, strategic marketing: the process of generating awareness of, understanding of, interest in, respect for, and trust in your business and its services. We’ll teach you methods for promoting your business in the long term by generating inbound sales, in which clients come to you for help. This marketing approach draws on your existing strengths and emphasizes your reputation over the superficial markers of your brand.
